A. Lange & Söhne - 1815 Up/Down ref. 221.027 White Gold Blue Dial

A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up/Down ref. 221.027 featuring a solid 18k white gold case measuring 36mm with a beautiful blue stepped dial and highly legible white Arabic numerals.

Originally launched in 1997 and named after the brand’s founder Ferdinand Lange’s birth year this watch draws inspiration from one of its earliest patents dating all the way back to 1879. This patent of course for what we know today as a power reserve meter, however was described as a “Device on pocket watches to detect whether the watch is wound up or wound down”.

This particular variation was only produced for 4 years and was discontinued in 2001. It has remained amongst the most coveted in the 1815 line and for good reason. The combination of the white gold and blue dial combined straight forward design language Lange is known for as well as the traditional case size makes this one of my personal favorite Lange’s of all time…seriously!

This watch is in very nice condition as you can see showing only small superficial marks from gentle wear. It comes on an oem blue strap with original white gold buckle as well as a Lange presentation box.
