Omega - 1929 Omega Trench-Style Watch 9K YG "Enamel Dial"

1929 Omega Trench-Style Watch 9K YG "Enamel Dial"

Before World War I, most watches came in the form of the pocket variety, with wristwatches being far less popular. But during the War, when the soldiers in the trenches needed a timepiece that could be read quickly and easily while holding a rifle, those pocket watches got modified into wristwatches—or wristlets, as they were often referred to back then—to make them much more usable. Fittingly, those watches came to be known as trench watches.

This 1929 Omega appears to be inspired by such style of wirstwatch – and a striking example of one at that, featuring an incredible 9k gold cushion case with fixed spring bars and a remarkable enamel dial with blued breguet hands and a sub-seconds dial. It's one of the most stunning trench-style watches we've seen, and would be an incredible addition to any collection.
