Early 1900’s Art Deco in a Tankshell.

Invention of the automobile, aviation, and radio commemorated the end of the Second Industrial Revolution. As the world shifted centuries, Art Deco emerged as an aesthetic and philosophical reaction to the increase in commerce and communication – our world had never been more connected. Advancing imagery within art abstraction and cubism informed commercial design, and the world’s intertwinedness demonstrated through a strata of storming and streamlined opulence.

The Art Deco 1930’s AP Tank features a metal square dial in lacquered ivory mated to a rectangular 18k gold case, whose face features gold needle hands, raised golden 12 – 3 – 9 hours and polygonal dagger indices. Hoisted into the small frame is Audemars’ 18 jeweled movement, Caliber 9/10RS.
