Other - 1930’s Vibra Cylindergraph
Here we have a funky piece coming from the 1930’s with a seldom seen day-date “complication”.
The off white dial is untouched, and signed Vibra. Very few of these examples have been seen on the market with few signed Vibra and some signed Springbrook.
This “complication” has been listed as “Cylindergraph” at least once online, and referred to as a “cylinder calendar” on others and we like the ring of both.
In original condition the chrome case has visible areas of wear/flaking but is in overall great conditions for its 90+ years of age.
The offwhite dial features black arabic numerals, and a hard to capture mirror ring within the black printed chemin de fer (minute track) Set above this wonderful dial is a set of blued steel spade shaped hands.
The calendar functions are both in working order, with the date functions nice and tight, while the day function is a bit easier to move. The day being in spanish (like all other models known to us) leading us to believe these pieces may have been made for the south american market.
Inside runs a low jewel count swiss movement seemingly keeping time, yes the service history is unknown.
The leather strap is also seemingly original as it is attached to the fixed lugs, is made in an early 1900’s style, bears an era appropriate buckle (which we love) and the punched wholes appear to be unused.
