Omega - 1944 Omega Dress Watch 'Cal. 30T2' Black Gilt Dial

1944 Omega Dress Watch 'Cal. 30T2' Black Gilt Dial

As one of the most storied and recognizable watch brands in the world, the Omega catalog is vast and filled with interesting and unique references, from the Speedmaster and Seamaster to lesser known but equally stunning pieces like this dress watch with a striking warm patina on the numerals and hands – and the cal. 30T2 movement beating within.

The cal. 30T2 is a time-only manual wind movement that Omega created in 1939. It's essentially a robust but simple base movement that is very versatile in its adaptability – in fact, variations of the cal. 30T2 were produced all the way up until 1963. This legendary movement wasn't only for civilian use either, as the British military issued a massive contract with Omega to produce chronometer-rated timepieces for their soldiers that all housed a modified cal. 30T2 movement.

Perhaps fittingly, this watch definitely exudes a certain military-esque vibe while also looking undeniably dressy, with the Arabic numerals at the hours and the sub-seconds nestled nicely at 6 o'clock. This is a gorgeous, historic, timeless piece that would look great on any wrist and in any application.
