Rolex - 1964 Rolex 6694 Oyster Precision Date 34 Alpha Hands 2 Tone Extra Hands

For sale is an excellent condition 34mm stainless steel and 14 karat yellow gold Rolex Oyster Precision Date. The 6694 is a 1,033,XXX serial, circa 1964 production, and is accompanied by an unused set of tritium-coated gold Alpha hands, which were supplied free of charge by Rolex to the original owner in 1965, and remain sealed in their original wax paper.

The Rolex features a brushed steel case with a smooth polished bezel and is fitted with its original yellow gold and steel Rolex USA Jubilee bracelet. The bracelet is fully linked and will comfortably accommodate a wrist over 7.5 inches. The Oyster Precision showcases a silver sunburst dial with applied gold index hour markers, gold tritium-coated Dauphine Alpha hands, and a date aperture at 3 o’clock. The dial has taken on a light “tropical” UV discoloration with age, giving it a subtle golden-brown hue. The tritium lume plots and hands have developed a consistent beige-amber patina, presenting with uniform warmth and tone.

Condition:
The case has been well preserved and retains thick even lugs with crisp factory brush lines. The Rolex USA Jubilee bracelet contains minimal stretch that is consistent for its age, with the coronet on the clasp remaining thick and crisp. All of the tritium lume plots remain and present uniformly along with the lume on the hands when exposed to UV. Overall, the Rolex remains in excellent condition and is a superb example of an early-production reference 6694, made all the more special by the new old stock handset supplied to the original owner by Rolex in 1965.
