Omega - 1965 Omega Speedmaster Ed White 105.003 with 321 - DON Dot of 90 Bezel
Experience a piece of horological history with the 1965 Omega Speedmaster, reference 105003, a watch that embodies both rarity and timeless appeal. Known affectionately as the "Ed White," this Speedmaster earned its nickname when astronaut Edward White wore it during his legendary spacewalk in 1965—making it the first Omega Speedmaster to venture into the vast expanse of space. This connection to one of humankind’s most daring achievements is just one aspect of what makes this timepiece truly extraordinary.
Adorning this 105003 is a bespoke leather band, carefully chosen to complement the watch’s vintage aesthetic while offering modern comfort and style. At its heart lies the sought-after Dot Over Ninety (DON) bezel, a feature avid collectors instantly recognize as a hallmark of originality. This bezel is in impeccable vintage condition and displays a graceful greyish fade, creating a richly textured visual appeal that speaks to its storied past. Adding to its allure, the dial remains immaculate, showcasing a beautiful warm patina on the lume of the markers and hands. These subtle yet captivating details lend character and depth, reflecting the passage of time and absolute care with which this watch has been preserved.
What further elevates this Speedmaster as a collector’s treasure is the remarkable short production run of the 105003 reference. Produced for just a brief period, it has become one of the rarest gems in the Speedmaster lineage. This scarcity, combined with the intrinsic connection to NASA’s pioneering space missions, ensures its everlasting desirability within any serious collection.
