Zenith - 1971 Zenith El Primero “ Mark II” | Ref. A386 | Unpolished
A collector's piece.
Widely regarded as one of the finest chronographs ever produced, and undeniably one of the most iconic, this model holds the distinction of being the first automatic chronograph ever made. Production was extremely limited, with an estimated 1,500 examples in total, of which only around 500 are known to be Mark 2 variants. This particular piece stands out not only for its historical significance but also for its remarkable state of preservation. The case remains entirely unpolished, retaining its original form with sharp, well-defined bevels, a true testament to its careful ownership over the decades.
Crafted in the final months of 1971, this piece remains in wonderfully unpolished condition. Paired with its original Gay Frères ladder bracelet, it forms a strikingly authentic and desirable example, one that’s exceptionally hard to match.
