TAG Heuer - 1979 Heuer Pasadena Chronograph Mk. 1 Dial (Ref. 750.501) 'Factory PVD'
1979 Heuer Pasadena Chronograph Mk. 1 Dial (Ref. 750.501) 'Factory PVD'
This example features a rare Mk. 1 dial variant, distinguished by Pasadena printed on the dial—a detail unique to the earliest years of production. Other hallmarks of the Mk. 1 include the light grey rings surrounding the sub-dials and the small rectangular lume plots at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions. Together, these subtle traits set the Mk. 1 apart as the earliest and most collectible iteration of the series.

CASE & BRACELET
The unpolished case retains its original factory-applied PVD finish, showing only minimal wear from age while preserving sharp, defined edges throughout. Original PVD-finished pump pushers and the unsigned crown remain intact, further underscoring the watch’s authenticity. The case back is also in excellent condition, with factory finishing and engravings still crisp and legible. Completing the watch is its original TAG Heuer PVD bracelet—an important transitional element of the brand—with 19 solid links free of stretch, fitting wrists up to 7¼ inches.
DIAL & HANDS
The matte black dial Mk. 1 dial is in exceptional vintage condition, showing no damage or notable age. The tritium lume plots have taken on a beautiful dark custard patina. Under UV light inspection, the lume shows no loss or degradation. The original tritium hands are in excellent condition and match the color and texture of the lume on the dial. The center chronograph hand remains in its original bright orange finish.
