Patek Philippe - 1990’s Patek Philippe Neptune Moonphase ref. 5085/1A “B&P, PVD Coated”
Up for grabs is a Patek Philippe Neptune in steel
Reference 5085/1A with cal. 240 movement, the same movement this model’s Nautilus counterpart used in reference 3712 and 5712.
This is a 37mm watch with screw-down crown and an integrated bracelet.
This model was only produced for about 3 years in the late 1990’s.
Normally, the watch is in plain steel with high polish finishes on the bracelet and case, however, the previous owner decided to further add to “sportiness” of this watch by having it black PVD coated and sandblast finished. The original matte black compliments this decision very well, in my opinion, and the contrast of white hands, print, and yellow patina really “pops” here. This coating is in excellent condition and shows no scratches or wear on bracelet, clasp, or case.
The display back is original and shows off the Patek calibre 240 with micro-rotor.
The bracelet fits a large wrist, about 7.75″ with removable links.
This watch is also accompanied by its original boxes, manual, and papers, dated in 2002 at time of purchase new.
Overall, the watch combines many eras and styles.
