IWC Schaffhausen - 1990s IWC Doppelchronograph 'Split Second' (Ref. 3713)

1990s IWC Doppelchronograph 'Split Second' (Ref. 3713)

This ref. 3713 “Doppelchronograph”, or Double Chronograph, was first introduced by IWC in the '90s with a design language based on the original Mark XI. The watch features the robust and accurate Valjoux 7750 as its base movement, but has an innovative split-seconds chronograph added to it. This allows users to time two events at once—or multiple parts of a single event—as the chronograph seconds hand splits at the push of a button (note the extra pusher positioned at 10 o'clock).

Aside from the incredible movement, this is a quintessential IWC pilot's watch through and through—matte black dial, white Arabic numerals with lumed markers at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock, and a lumed arrow marker at 12 o'clock—and a timeless classic at the same time.
