Patek Philippe - 2000s Patek Philippe Neptune Moon Phase (Ref. 5085/1A) Box & Papers

2000s Patek Philippe Neptune Moon Phase (Ref. 5085/1A) Box & Papers

For some, the Neptune ref. 5085/1A may be an acquired taste, which is understandable. It's an impressively complicated moonphase calendar with power reserve and a display case back, employing the in house cal. 240/164, housed in a stainless steel 37mm case with crown guards and a screw-down crown resulting in a 30-meter depth rating. Tying these colliding worlds together is an integrated stainless steel "fish scales" bracelet. Though for those who get it, love it, and we at Craft + Tailored are happy to be in that camp.

The excellent stainless steel case exhibits gentle wear with minimal evidence of previous polishing present, retaining the original dimensions and overall design profile. The slightly domed sapphire crystal is clean, showing no scratches or visible blemishes. The case retains its orignal screw-down crown adorned with the Patek Philippe cross. The sapphire exhibition case back is also in excellent condition and provides a window into the beautiful cal. 240/164 movement. The integrated stainless steel "fish scales" bracelet with butterfly clasp is incredibly comfortable on wrist and retains 18 links that exhibit nominal stretch and will fit up to a 7 1/4-inch wrist.

DIAL & HANDS

The original satin black dial is virtually flawless, showing no damage or age in the dial itself. The tritium lume plots have achieved a vibrant golden patina and exhibit no degradation when inspected under UV light. The original tritium hands have aged a few shades lighter than the dial, which is very common in this era, and also show no degradation when inspected under UV light.
