Omega - 2004 Omega "Snoopy Award" Speedmaster Ref. 3578.51 Limited Edition Full Set

In recognition of Omega’s crucial role in the safe return of the Apollo 13 crew during the “successful failure” mission, NASA presented the brand with the prestigious Snoopy Award on October 5, 1970. The Omega Speedmaster played a pivotal role in timing critical re-entry maneuvers. To commemorate this honor, Omega launched the “Blue Snoopy” Speedmaster reference 3578.51.00 in 2003, featuring Snoopy in his blue astronaut suit (the “Eyes on the Stars” patch) on the running seconds subdial at 9 o’clock and on the caseback. Limited to 5,441 pieces—representing the exact duration of the Apollo 13 mission (142 hours, 54 minutes, and 41 seconds)—this model is celebrated as the first and most understated of the three Snoopy Speedmasters.

This 2004 example, offered in mint, like-new old stock condition, includes its full set of accessories and documentation dating to 12/21/2004. The condition of the watch is mint. The bracelet is fully linked and shows no wear or stretch. Very seldomly do we find this reference in this condition accompanied by its full set making it a truly iconic and collectible timepiece.
