Audemars Piguet - Audemars Piguet Cobra Automatic
Sinnerman.
This late 1970s Audemars Piguet Cobra, crafted from solid 18k white gold, exudes elegance through its seamless integration of design and craftsmanship. The unique checkered finish on the case and integrated bracelet offers a tactile experience, blending the watch’s jewelry-like qualities with its function as a timepiece. Integrated bracelets were the height of refinement in the 60s and 70s, contrasting the rugged steel sports models of previous eras.
The sleek black dial is accented by diamond indices at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, with a double diamond at 12, providing just the right touch of brilliance without overwhelming its minimalist charm. The plexiglass crystal adds warmth, a feature vintage collectors love. Inside, the ultra-slim self-winding caliber K 2120, with a 21k gold rotor, powers the watch. Based on Jaeger-LeCoultre's caliber 920, this movement was supplied to elite brands like Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, and Vacheron Constantin.
Versatility is the hallmark of this watch. The white gold case, understated enough to pass as stainless steel, makes it equally suited for both formal and casual settings. Whether at a dinner party or in a boardroom, this timepiece offers quiet confidence and luxury.
**Condition**
In excellent condition, the case retains its original lines, with no signs of over-polishing. The hallmarks and serial numbers are sharp and visible on the caseback and buckle, and the bracelet is free from kinks or cracks. The dial is pristine, with clear, intact lettering. There’s a minor mark on the plexiglass between 10 and 11 o'clock, which can be easily buffed out. The bracelet will fit a 7.25-inch wrist. This Audemars Piguet is an exquisite blend of design and craftsmanship.
