Audemars Piguet - Audemars Piguet Ref. 5273ST
A handsome Audemars Piguet reference 5273 in stunning conditions.
This model, hailing from the late 60’s/early 70’s is one of my favorite steel offerings from Audemars Piguet.
The creamy white dial is adorned by white baton markers and stick hands as well as the long signature at 12’ and the beautiful script “Automatic” signature at 6’.
The 34mm steel case is in remarkable conditions for its age, seemingly unpolished with thick sharp lugs, and sharp bezel. The dodecagonal caseback still bears sharp edges on all 12 sides, as well as it’s radial brushed finish.
Inside runs the important AP Cal. 2120, an ultra thin automatic movement coming in at 2.45mm thick, with a rail guided winding rotor. Originally produced by JLC & VC it was utilized by some of the top Swiss manufactures in the late 60’s into the 70’s, including the original AP Royal Oak.
The piece is accompanied by an unbranded 18mm alligator strap, its original steel Wenger buckle, and its red leather Audemars Piguet signed box.
