Other - Benrus Type 1 - Rare

When thinking of the most iconic military watches ever produced, it would be hard not to place the Benrus Type 1 in the top 5 of the list (up there with the Rolex MilSub, Tornek-Rayville etc.) The unique and ergonomic asymmetrical case shape of these watches went on to influence later mil-spec pieces from the 70s to today. Perhaps most noteworthy is its pure and well laid out dial design, which we believe holds its own against the brilliance of the Rolex Explorer 1.

This particular example was issued in March of 1976 and remains in beautiful vintage condition. The case has honest signs of use, only adding to its charm. The dial had a service scratch by the 1 o-clock marker which has been restored and is not distracting to the naked eye. It has take warm patina through the markers and hands which are matching. Notably, the bezel insert remains in fantastic shape with no cracks or chips and the "dimple" signed crown is correct. For anyone looking to get into a Type 1 at a very reasonable price this piece is a great opportunity to acquire a lovely looking example of what is without a doubt our favorite Benrus model.

Dial: There is a service scratch by the 1 o-clock marker that was repaired by a top watchmaker. It is not distracting to the naked eye. Gorgeous and warm tritium plots that look clean and match the hands nicely.
Hands: Are matching and all of their lume is stable.
Case: Normal signs of use consistent with age and no distracting wear. Correct "dimple" signed crown.
Bracelet: Single pass NATO-style strap in beige. Crystal: Has some light scratches that could be buffed off at a later date but we prefer the character.
Accessories: NA
