Blancpain - Blancpain Bathyscaphe MC4 - Archive Papers/*Unpolished* - Very Rare

Blancpain is the oldest watchmaking company, dating back to 1735. The brand has weathered centuries and has a rich history of heritage, craftsmanship, and innovation. Credited with what we know as the modern dive watch, their now iconic Fifty-Fathoms just celebrated its 70th anniversary, having been released the same year as the Rolex Submariner in 1953. Although Blancpain might not be the first name to come to mind for many, the brand is seeing more deserved attention as collectors unpack their fantastic contribution to the world of horology.

The Bathyscaphe was introduced in '56 as a civilian sibling to the Fifty-Fathoms. The name came from a deep-sea exploration vessel invented by Auguste Piccard as a nod to the spirit of exploration. These non-professional models were smaller in proportion, offering more and usable sizes for everyday wear. On offer is a stunning example ref. MC4 that received archive/authentication services from Blancpain in '24. It features a glossy gilt dial with Arabic numerals at noon and a mix of circular/triangle indices offering a fantastic and charming dial layout. It remains in stunning vintage condition with a sharp unpolished case, perfectly preserved bezel insert and dial that has aged beautifully for this era. For any collector looking for a special vintage dive watch with good provenance, we're thrilled to offer you your next timepiece.
