Blancpain - Blancpain Villeret Perpetual Calendar 5395 w/ Gay Frères Bracelet

Blancpain is the oldest watchmaking company, dating back to 1735. The brand has weathered centuries and has a rich history of heritage, craftsmanship and innovation. Credited with what we know as the modern dive watch, their now iconic Fifty-Fathoms just celebrated its 70th anniversary, having been released the same year as the Rolex Submariner in 1953. Although Blancpain might not be the first name to come to mind for many, the brand is seeing more deserved attention as collectors unpack their fantastic contribution to the world of horology.

This Villeret Perpetual Calendar ref. 5395, circa 1990s, was produced during the legendary Jean Claude Biver era making it one of the six "masterpieces" created during that time. It is one of the thinnest and most elegant wearing perpetuals available even to this day. This particular example is a rare two-tone example (more seldom seen than its gold sibling) and comes on a very rare matching Gay Frères bracelet which, feels silky and will fit an approximate 7.25-inch wrist. Overall, this piece is in excellent neo-vintage condition with a well-preserved dial that has taken on a fantastic warm patina and nicely shaped case. For anyone looking for a beautiful and elegant perpetual to add to their collection, we believe this represents great value in today's market.

Dial: Has taken a gorgeous and even "cream" patina. Under a loupe there are a couple of very small age marks but they are not distracting to the naked eye.
Hands: Are matching.
Case: Shows light signs of use and displays thick and even lugs. Correct unsigned crown. Bracelet: Rare two-tone Gay Frères which remains tight and will fit an approximate 7.25 inch wrist.
Crystal: Clear.
Accessories: NA

All functions of the watch operate flawlessly. The movement is running well on our timegrapher and comes with our 1-year mechanical warranty.
