Blancpain - Blancpain Villeret Ultra-Thin Chronometer 7002 - Breguet Numerals - *Unpolished*
Blancpain is the oldest watchmaking company, dating back to 1735. The brand has weathered centuries and has a rich history of heritage, craftsmanship, and innovation. Credited with what we know as the modern dive watch, their now iconic Fifty-Fathoms just celebrated its 70th anniversary, having been released the same year as the Rolex Submariner in 1953. Although Blancpain might not be the first name to come to mind for many, the brand is seeing more deserved attention as collectors unpack their fantastic contribution to the world of horology.
The BP ref. 7002 is estimated to have a low production with fewer than just 1,000 pieces. It is an undoubtedly beautiful and practical neo-vintage offering from the brand and we believe their full appreciation is yet to come. This piece houses an ultra-thin and high-grade and C.O.S.C. certified 64-1 caliber. The white dial features gorgeous Breguet style numerals which curve around its circumference which is an interesting design character unique to this model. At 36mm X 40.8mm the size is extremely elegant, largely in part to its short lug length. This particular example has remained in stunning condition with a mint dial/hands and unpolished case. For anyone looking for a quality and understated dress watch that’s suitable for daily wear, this iteration is likely its most desirable.
