Cartier - Cartier Must De Cartier w/ Lemon Dial - Full Set
The Cartier Tank has achieved iconic status in the world of watch design and, with the exception of a few distinctive variations, has maintained a consistent aesthetic throughout its extensive production history. The first commercially available Tank Normale was introduced in 1919, having been inspired by the treads of the French Renault FT-17 tank used in WW1. Throughout the decades, Tank watches have been documented on the wrists of notable figures from Jackie Kennedy to Andy Warhol. Today, Cartier feels more relevant in the worlds of fashion, music and popular culture than ever before.
The Must De Cartier line was brought to market in the 1970s as a more accessible price point. This was done with the use of electroplating cases vs using solid gold as well as by leveraging quartz movements for the most part, however, some pieces were also produced with mechanical movements. This particular quartz piece features a beautiful yellow/"lemon" toned dial with classic Roman numerals. It remains in beautiful vintage condition and is really a collectors dream as it comes as a complete set with all the all the bells and whistles one could hope for.
