First released in the 70s, the Santos Carrée was Cartier's attempt to offer an accessible sport watch in both two-tone (ref. 2961) and in steel (ref. 2960). At 29mm, the Carrée (square in French) case is perfectly sized to strike a balance of elegance and sportiness. One might argue that today, more than ever, this model is the Rolex Datejust of Cartier. For anyone with a medium to larger sized wrist the ref. 2823 offers slightly boosted proportions at 32mm. Notably the date window also sits more discretely between the 4 & 5 o’clock indices. The bracelet also features a hidden clasp which, is a welcome addition to these modern examples.

This particular piece has remained in excellent and seemingly unpolished condition with no distracting wear. The dial is also in mint condition. Offered as a complete set with both boxes, warranty papers, folder and extra links we believe this is a fantastic and practical daily driver for fans of Cartier.

Hands: Are matching.
Case: Appears unpolished. Light signs of use with no distracting wear. Thick and evenly proportioned lugs. Correct crown.
Bracelet: Remains very tight with no notable blemishes. Will fit an approximate 8 inch wrist and appears to have all links.
Crystal: Clear.
