Cartier - Cartier, Swiss Made, 1970s
Rare and beautiful Cartier, Made in Switzerland 1970s.
The case is absolutely stunning with its unusual and interesting compilation of shapes. The 18K ’Squarish’ case is surrounded by an oval ring, not only enhancing the size but also creating a beautiful geometrical element.
The watch is beautifully preserved and retains its fully legible Inventory and Serial numbers on the case back. All hallmarks are present and indicate that the watch was produced in Switzerland in the early to mid 1970s and consequently imported into France for sale.
The case and backwinder movement are made by LeCoultre. The deployant was made by Edmond Jaeger and is slightly earlier than the case.
Overall a fascinating and rare watch watch that is a feast for collectors of rare geometrically shaped Cartier watches and those of exquisite taste.
