The Cartier Tank has achieved iconic status in the world of watch design and, with the exception of a few distinctive variations, has maintained a consistent aesthetic throughout its extensive production history. The first commercially available Tank Normale was introduced in 1919, having been inspired by the treads of the French Renault FT-17 tank used in WW1. Throughout the decades, Tank watches have been documented on the wrists of notable figures from Jackie Kennedy to Andy Warhol. Today, Cartier feels more relevant in the worlds of fashion, music and popular culture than ever before. 

This Tank Louis, circa 1970s features a "Paris" signed dial and the "elongated" cabochon crown which many collectors argue is more attractive. This piece has remained in absolutely stunning vintage condition. The case appears completely untouched and displays beautiful rosy patina. All of the hallmarks and markings are extremely deep and crisp. The dial has some light aging on its outer edges but does not show any crazing which is difficult to find in this era. It comes accompanied with an 18k Cartier pin buckle and Cartier strap in black gator. Anyone who can appreciate the charm of a top condition vintage piece will find this example to be a true standout from the pack.

Dial: There is a touch of aging on its far edges, visible in the macro photography. Overall, it is very well-preserved for this era with no cracking or crazing and presents well to the naked eye.
Hands: Are matching.
Case: Appears completely untouched and unpolished with deep and crisp hallmarks. There is stunning rosy patina throughout. Correct crown.
Bracelet: 18k Cartier signed pin buckle and two piece Cartier gator strap in black.
Crystal: Has some light wear but nothing distracting to the naked eye.
