The Cartier Tank Louis Ref. 1600, known as the “Extra-Plate” (extra-thin), is a masterclass in Cartier’s pursuit of refined minimalism. Introduced in the mid 1970s and produced into the 1990s, this ultra-slim version of the iconic Tank Louis embodies everything that makes Cartier timeless. Crafted in 18k yellow gold, the rectangular case remains true to the Tank’s original design, but is dramatically slimmed down to achieve an exceptionally elegant profile. Measuring just over 4mm in thickness, the Ref. 1600 disappears under a cuff and sits effortlessly on the wrist. Inside, it is powered by the F. Piguet 21 manual-winding mechanical movement. The silvered dial with black Roman numerals, rail-track minute scale, and blued steel hands remains unmistakably Cartier, finished with a cabochon sapphire crown.

This very example is on good condition with light patina to the dial and light signs of wear to the case and caseback.
