Cartier - Cartier Tank Must w/Black "Spider" Dial
The Cartier Tank has achieved iconic status in the world of watch design and, with the exception of a few distinctive variations, has maintained a consistent aesthetic throughout its extensive production history. The first commercially available Tank Normale was introduced in 1919, having been inspired by the treads of the French Renault FT-17 tank used in WW1. Throughout the decades, Tank watches have been documented on the wrists of notable figures from Jackie Kennedy to Andy Warhol. Today, Cartier feels more relevant in the worlds of fashion, music and popular culture than ever before.
The Must De Cartier line was brought to market in the 1970s as a more accessible price point. This was done with the use of electroplating cases vs using solid gold as well as by leveraging quartz movements for the most part, however, some pieces were also produced with mechanical movements. These mechanical pieces are becoming more collectible today and remain a fantastic point of value for the brand. This example houses a black lacquer dial that has "spidered" evenly across. It comes accompanied but its plated Cartier buckle and is mounted on a black lizard strap. It clearly has been loved and displays character and is ready to go for more years of enjoyment.
Dial: Has an even "spider" patter across its lacquer. There is also a small chip near the center post but it is not distracting to the naked eye.
Hands: Are matching.
Case: Normal signs of use consistent with age. There is some wear on the corners but displays nice character overall. Correct crown.
Bracelet: Two piece lizard strap in black with plated Cartier buckle.
Crystal: Clear.
Accessories: Genuine Cartier service pouch for storage and travel.
The movement is running nicely on our timegrapher and comes with our 1-year mechanical warranty.
