Cartier - Cartier Tank Ovale | Ultra Rare | 18k White Gold | Limited Edition
Drawing inspiration from humble objects such as a pebble, a bathtub, a turtle and a cushion, Cartier has had a long legacy of iconic silhouettes in its creations; each a metamorphosis of the mundane into the sublime.
This particular masterpiece, born from a collaboration with Piaget, has design cues inspired by the extremely rare and coveted 1932 “Tank à Guichet” and the even rarer “Carre à Pattes” (French for Square with Legs) watch from 1946, published in the book "White Cartier" by Osvaldo Patrizzi, which also featured a similar circular dial ensconced within a white-gold case and which now graces the wrist of the world’s greatest watch collector.
White Cartiers, rare as unicorns in the horological forest, are hugely investable and this is an excellent example - showcasing the Maison’s mastery over form and shape in a flawless crescendo of horological accomplishment.
Showcased in a standard tank-sized 24mm x 30mm case in excellent, unpolished condition with some light patina on dial. Includes the original Cartier buckle in white gold and a blue Camille Fournet alligator strap.
