Corum - Ellipse Mallard Duck Feather Dial White Gold
A beautiful Corum Ellipse from the 70's, with an intriguing Mallard duck feather dial that features some beautiful shades of purple (check photo 4) - certainly one you don't see everyday!
This example, hewn in a lustrous 18k white gold 35mm case is in incredible, near mint condition and moreover is accompanied by its original red-backed Corum signed ostrich leather strap and Corum key logo buckle.
Corum is a fascinating brand with a crazy plethora of eccentric designs - there really wasn't any other quite like them, bar Piaget, in terms of their creative vision and the boundaries they were willing to push when it came to watch design along with materials utilised.
Designs such as the feather dial models, golden bridge and ingot bar watches to me really represent the pinnacle in freedom of expression and truly embody the flamboyance that could be found during the 70's and 80's!
To note especially, they were real experts at creating watches with exotic dials materials, especially utilising bird feathers such as peacock, duck and guinea fowl.
