Cartier - Ellipse "chinoiserie" patterns
It would be "just another Ellipse", Françoise would already be delighted to present it to you! The ellipse is one of the watches that crowned Cartier as the king of montres de forme (shaped watches). And yet, it is a case that we see little, and which has not been very produced !
But the excitement doesn't stop there! It is an even rarer edition of the Ellipse that Françoise offers you here, with this pattern work on the strap attachment. The most erudite will recognize chinoiseries patterns. In the 1920s and 1930s created a hype for jewels and designs inspired by asian art. This style is called chinoiseries (which roughly translate to "kind of chinese"). This kind of design is clearly typical both of Cartier and the 1920s.
