The Gerald Genta brand, founded by the visionary watchmaker himself, is synonymous with avant-garde design and horological innovation. Renowned for creating iconic timepieces like the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and the Patek Philippe Nautilus, Genta’s eponymous brand inherits his legacy of pushing boundaries in watch design.
Each Gerald Genta watch is a fusion of artistic creativity and technical mastery, embodying a distinctive blend of luxury and craftsmanship. With a commitment to limited production and exclusive craftsmanship, Gerald Genta timepieces are cherished by collectors for their rarity, design brilliance, and the enduring legacy of their creator.
The Gefica was introduced in 1988 under the Gerald Genta brand, which was founded by Genta himself. The watch was named after a group of three individuals: Geoffroy, Fissore, and Canali, who were avid hunters and explorers. They inspired Genta to create a timepiece suitable for adventure and exploration.
The Gefica was pioneering in its use of materials. It was one of the first watches to use bronze for the case, a material choice inspired by the need for durability and resistance to the elements.
The design was also innovative, featuring a highly legible dial with large numerals and markers, as well as a rotating bezel. The case was crafted to be both robust and elegant, with a distinctive, rugged aesthetic.
