TAG Heuer - Heuer Autavia 7763C MK1 w/ Bracelet - *Unpolished*
The Autavia name first came into Heuer's production in 1933 with their dashboard timers, used for both automotive racing and flying. (Autavia is a combination of auto and aviation). It wasn't until 1962 that Autavia would re-appear as a wristwatch and go on to become a staple model for its connection to Formula One racing.
This particular ref. 7763C (C standing for compressor case), shares an identical case shape to the more commonly known 2446. It is a mk1 variant, bearing an early 11XXX serial number. We are thrilled to offer this piece which has remained in excellent vintage condition with a nice dial/bezel insert and sharp unpolished case. The two-register "reverse panda" dial is a more pure layout and although this piece comes with a comfortable Heuer signed GF bracelet, we believe these pieces look equally stunning on a quality leather strap.
Dial: Excellent overall with no distracting blemishes. There are some light age marks in the sub dials. The tritium plots have taken on a warm patina. Bezel: Very well preserved with no notable scuffs. Hands: Are matching. Their tritium lume is stable. Case: Appears very sharp and unpolished. Caseback etching is still clearly visible. Correct pushers and signed crown.
Bracelet: Correct Heuer signed GF bracelet with medium to light stretch. Will fit an approximate 7.5 inch wrist.
