TAG Heuer - Heuer Autavia 7763C Mk1 w/ Striking Patina - *Unpolished*

The Autavia name first came into Heuer's production in 1933 with their dashboard timers, used for both automotive racing and flying. (Autavia is a combination of auto and aviation). It wasn't until 1962 that Autavia would re-appear as a wristwatch and go on to become a staple model for its connection to Formula One racing.

This particular ref. 7763C (C standing for compressor case) shares an identical case shape to the more commonly known 2446C. It is a mk1 variant, bearing an early 11XXX serial number as well as white chronograph hand. We are thrilled to offer this piece which has remained in excellent vintage condition. The dial/hands have taken a stunning "coffee" like patina, adding warmth to its overall look. The case has honest signs of use but appears sharp and unpolished. For anyone looking for a charming vintage chronograph, this example really stands out from the pack.

Dial: Is fantastic with warm "coffee" colored tritium plots that have aged evenly. The sub-dials are very clean for this era and there are no distracting areas of wear.
Bezel: Normal signs of use consistent with age.
Hands: Are matching. Their tritium lume is stable.
Case: Appears very sharp and unpolished. Caseback etching is still clearly visible. Correct pushers and signed crown.
Bracelet: Two piece leather strap in black. Crystal: Clear.
Accessories: NA
