Patek Philippe - “Hour Glass” ref 1593 yellow gold
Patek Philippe reference 1593 “Pagoda” in 18kt yellow gold. Introduced in 1944 the reference 1593 is a wonderful expression of post-war exuberance. The oversized rectangular case has a bold clean design foreshadowing a mid-century aesthetic. Known by collectors also as “Hourglass” or “Tegola”, the pillar lugs flare outward from the center, and are delightfully curved, giving the case an architectural appeal, and creating a quarter moon profile. The present piece features a silver enamelled dial with arabic indexes, put together by a made in Italy leather strap and Patek Philippe 18kt yellow gold buckle.
