IWC Schaffhausen - Ingenieur Ref. 3521 Full Set

A stunning ‘full set’ IWC Ingenieur ref. 3521 dating to the 1990s. This neo-vintage treasure was launch in 1993 during what many call the ‘golden era of IWC’. This model was an upgraded and refined model of the original Gerald Genta design from late 1970s. Featuring a robust 34mm case which wears slightly larger due to its integrated bracelet. Boasting a chronometer certified JLC movement which was an upgrade from the former ETA found in the previous models making the 3521 more lux. The soft iron inner case making it the watch antimagnetic to 500 guass adds a bit more grit and of course a cool factor. This model was discontinued in 2001 so was produced in total for 8 years.

This example as you can see is in excellent condition and comes complete with original box, all the paperwork including the warranty card, original hangtag and even some early service records. This is certainly one of the finest examples you can find and with the desirable black glossy dial and gold index.

There is quite a compelling value proposition in this watch given the parallels between the other 2 more famous Genta designs from AP and Patek which trade at many times the price of the IWC. Having owned and handled all 3, I could even say the IWC has a leg up in some ways given its COSC and robust antimagnetic case. It also wears extremely comfortable on the wrist and doesn’t feel the least bit delicate, but has a refined look.
