Jaeger-LeCoultre - Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Platinum Limited Edition (250 Pieces) - *Unpolished*
Jaeger-Lecoultre often referred to as the "watchmaker of watchmakers" is a brand we see deserving of much more discussion in the vintage community. Their recent release of "The Collectibles" - a capsule collection of their vintage highlights has been a welcome reminder of their incredible heritage.
Without question, this ref. 145.6.79.S is our favorite Master Ultra Thin model for its gorgeous and minimalist dial layout. We'd even go as far as calling this "the 1016 of dress watches." These models housed the cal. 849 manual-winding JLC caliber which measures an impressive 1.85mm thick. This reliable and ultra-thin movement allowed for an impressively thin case of just 5.4mm, adding to the elegance of this piece. To boot, these were also rated to 5 atmospheres, making them practical to wear on rainy days. This particular example is a limited edition of just 250 pieces, circa early 2000s. It is housed in the most noble of metals - platinum and features a stunning blue/grey sunburst dial. The watch remains in fantastic and unpolished condition, includes its original platinum buckle/strap. If you've been looking for an interesting neo-vintage dress watch this piece is truly breathtaking and one we believe deserves much more attention in the coming years.
