Cartier - LNOS Cartier Must Tank Vermeil Lacquer Wood Turtle Shell Dial Mechanical
For sale is a Like New Old Stock (LNOS) condition 21mm by 28mm Vermeil (gold plated silver case) Must de Cartier Tank Mechanical. The Tank Vermeil is a 3,018,XXX serial, circa late 1970s or early 1980s production, and is not accompanied by box or papers.
The Cartier features a gold plated 925 solid sterling silver Vermeil case, which is fitted with a gold cabochon sapphire cabochon set crown. Those with a keen eye will note the seldom-seen long cabochon crown, a style commonly found on Tank Louis models of the era and, on rare occasions, factory-fitted to early Vermeils due to their shared case architecture. The tank is mounted on its original red-undertoned mahogany brown colored lizard skin Cartier strap, which is secured by its original gold plated Cartier ardillon tang buckle. The Tank Vermeil features a rare ‘turtle shell’ brown lacquered wood dial, which is accented by polished gold hands. The Tank uses a manual wind movement, which is running as it should.
Condition:
Overall, the Tank Vermeil remains in LNOS condition, appearing to have spent most of its life in a drawer, with its gold components developing a warm, vivid patina and the original strap showing no signs of prior wear.
