Longines Calatrava from 1941 – a beautifully designed case and dial from an excellent yet often overlooked dress watch manufacturer. I believe Longines created some of the most stunning dress watches of the 1940s and 1950s, featuring unique dials and creative case shapes.

This particular example is crafted in stainless steel and features a manual wound movement with a simple three-hand dial configuration and Roman numerals at 3, 9, and 12. It is a very elegant design choice by Longines. At a modest 33mm case size with a 15mm lug width, it might seem small to some, but thanks to its bezel and lug design, it wears perfectly on small to mid-sized wrists.

Overall, this is an honest example, showing some wear on the dial and case but remaining in all-original condition and running smoothly—impressive for an 84-year-old watch!
