Longines - Longines Calatrava Tre Tacche - Circa 1942
Beautiful Longines Calatrava Tre Tacche from 1942
This example features stunning applied Breguet numerals, adding a touch of elegance to its otherwise robust case design. Personally, I find these smaller cases with flat bezels to look incredibly refined. This one has aged beautifully and is running very accurately. The caseback reveals that it was issued to a U.S. Coast Guard official, which adds even more character—I like to think it saw some action before being tucked away in a drawer.
The combination of Breguet numerals and a sub-dial at 6 o’clock has always been a winner. Its smaller case size gives it a refined and under-the-radar presence. This one is powered by the caliber 10Z, and with a serial number dating it to 1942, it’s hard to believe this beauty is over 80 years old.
