Longines - Longines WWW « Dirty Dozen »
Long story short, why the Longines is the favorite « Dirty Dozen » in the heart of collectors ?
Because it ticks all boxes that the eleven others don’t :
- full steel case whereas the majority has a chromed or partially chromed case
- 38mm, makes it the biggest of the 12
- No compromise on the design for a military watch : signature step case and cathedral hands
- Double military and civilian serial numbering
- Rarity: only 5000 produced, very few survived, many of them are not in collectible condition
Speaking about condition, this one is one of the best I ever seen. The lume is very homogeneous and remains in a vivid color.
The dial and case have survived to the war and keep all it’s original structures. The broad arrow remind us the MOD adn of it’s origines. Cherry on top of the cake the serial on caseback and lug are perfectly matching, which is rare.
Yes, the Longines Dirty Dozen, is without a doubt the dirtiest of the D12, and this one could be the nicest available out there.
