Mido - Mido Multicenter Chrono gold and steel
Mido Multi-Centerchrono Ref. 1219 chronograph from 1950 in 18K gold and stainless steel, powered by the in-house caliber 1300 with column wheel and 60-minute addition function, featuring central minute recording. The dial, aged with Arabic numerals, gold sword hands, and tachymeter and telemeter scales, is housed in a three-piece F. Borgel case with screw-down back, originally waterproof pushers, and an anti-magnetic cover. Movement and case are signed and numbered. Dimensions: 34 mm. Very good overall condition.
The patented feature of the Mido Multi-Centerchrono lies in its chronograph hand configuration: unlike conventional chronographs, it displays both chronograph seconds and minutes through two coaxial central hands, allowing direct and simultaneous reading of elapsed time without a subdial. This system, patented by Mido in the 1940s, is based on a specific mechanism integrated into the caliber 1300, derived from an Excelsior Park movement modified by the brand.
