A true all original Movado Calendermeto from the 40/50’s in a wonderful configuration coming in it’s original red suede Movado box and accompanied by an era appropriate magazine advertisement showcasing the same model (albeit a different dial). And yes the Ad does indeed come with the watch 😉

This Ermeto was executed in a steel case with textured leather covers, a two tone dial featuring gold radium markers with gold arabic numerals at the corners (2,4,8,10). The gold hands are also luminescent featuring their original radium filling in remarkable conditions.

Being a Calendermeto it is a “full calendar” displaying the Day, Date and Month. The Day and Month wheels are in a seldom seen language, which many confuse for Spanish,but it is in fact Portuguese. The correctors in the case for the calendar functions are all in working order as well.

The cherry on top for me is the fully functioning winding system, as seen in the video (second to last slide) winding the crown when opened/closed. This function is also directly mentioned in the old advertisement (last slide) and was clearly a main selling point for this piece back when it was in production.

A fun mechanical feat, on and in house movement, with its original two tone radium dial in its original box. What more could you ask for?
