Movado - Movado Datron SS 360 w/ El Primero Movement - Very Rare 18k Version
Offering fantastic value today, Movado's Datron is often overlooked by later Movado chronographs like the M95 and the Zenith El Primero. Unbeknownst to some, the Datron actually leveraged a high-grade automatic caliber 3019 PHC which was also used in Zenith's legendary chronograph. This movement boasts an impressive 36,000 beats per hour for improved accuracy and is often regarded as the best automatic chrono movement coming out of Switzerland in this era.
This particular Datron is a very rare 18k yellow gold variant (most are seen plated or in 14k) and features a gold sunburst "panda" dial. Some might even say it resembles a "Lemon" Daytona. This piece features a quickset date feature and is sized perfectly for a vintage chrono at 37mm. We're thrilled to offer this example which boasts fantastic vintage condition with a clean dial/hands and strong case that shows some unique and rosy patina. All of the hallmarks are deep and crisp as any collector would hope for and its ready to time the next lap at the nearest racetrack.
Dial: Excellent overall with no distracting blemishes. Sub dials are nice and clean. The tritium plots are full and have taken an even patina.
Bezel: Light signs of use.
Hands: Are matching. Their tritium lume is stable. Case: Fantastic with thick and even lugs. No distracting wear and beautiful rosy patina. Caseback etching is still clearly visible with deep and crisp hallmarks. Correct pushers and signed crown.
Bracelet: Handmade Italian pigskin in black. Crystal: Clear and appears original with Movado logo at center.
