Movado - Movado Triple Calendar Moon Phase Ref. R4926, 1940's

Triple Calendar

Movado, a brand that counts more than 100 years in its existence and is known for their innovative designs and their high quality finishing on their watches. Unlike today's Movado collection which is very basic, they have manufactured some very impressive watches including calendar watches and their legendary Chronographs. What they all have in common is the very high standard of quality and that includes all components.

To dive right into it, we have here an absolute beautiful example of a Triple Calendar Moonphase watch from the 1940s. The case measures 34 mm and bears very interesting elongated and facetted lugs.

The Silver two tone dial is in excellent condition hardly showing any wear to the naked eye which is very rare for a watch that is more than 80 years old. The hour indexes are in pink gold and consist of Arabic numerals and dots. Date wheels and in English language hands are in dagger style. The outer rim with the blue date is in great unrestored condition.

We found this watch with the original plexi glass that had become completely yellow from age and were able to replace it with a matching plexi glass so the veil to the beautiful dial is unobstructed.

An absolute gem for a great price that hardly reflects the quality and materials used.
