Omega - NOS* 1961 Omega Constellation Deluxe | 14381 82 SC | Box and Papers
When condition is everything, few watches can hold a candle to this one. The rare pink-on-pink configuration pairs a solid gold, vertically brushed dial with onyx indices, and crucially, no lume. That absence of luminous material is what allowed the dial to age so flawlessly, remaining clean and untouched over the decades.
But it’s not just the watch. This example comes as a complete set: the original red box with inner leather cover, the Omega guarantee certificate, and, most charming of all, the original purchase invoice, a detail almost never seen. For the collector who values condition and completeness, this is about as good as it gets.
The Omega Constellation stands as a true icon, one of the longest-running watch lines in history. In recent years, the trend toward smaller timepieces has brought renewed attention to these timeless models. Originally introduced to highlight OMEGA's exceptional craftsmanship, the Constellation line pairs classic design with high-grade movements. Its dial features the signature star at the bottom, symbolizing the constellations, while the caseback proudly displays the Observatory logo—a tribute to OMEGA’s award-winning movements tested at the Kew Observatory in 1933 and 1936.
CONDITION
This watch is in overall outstanding, almost unworn condition, the case is unpolished and sharp on the edges. There are very small and few hairlines on the case sides, probably made by sitting on a box for decades, and from the attempts to pen the caseback, The Observatory caseback emblem is very sharp. There are minor marks on the back of the lugs probably made when changing straps.
