Universal Geneve - NOS* Universal Genève Polerouter Electric, Ref. 219301-1

Undoubtedly one of the rarest Polerouter models and likely the finest example of its reference in existence, this NOS Universal Genève Polerouter Electric, Ref. 219301-1, is a remarkable 34mm steel wristwatch from the 1960s, produced in very limited quantities.

The Polerouter Electric debuted in 1963, completing a collection first introduced nine years earlier to commemorate SAS Airlines' pioneering polar route. This particular watch is powered by the UG calibre 60 movement, an enhanced version of the LIP R148. Featuring 14 jewels and running on a 1.5-volt battery, the movement includes a stop function, with the battery lasting approximately one year. When first released in 1963, the watch retailed for CHF 150.

While Universal Genève has not provided specific production figures, they have confirmed that the model was produced in "low" quantities, further cementing its status as a rare collector's piece.
