Omega - Omega Constellation ref.168.009

The Omega Constellation Ref. 168.009 is a quintessential example of mid-century modern watch design. Introduced in the mid-1960s, the C-shape case, penned by legendary Gerald Genta, marked a stylistic shift for Omega—away from the ornate toward the sculptural and integrated. Made in solid 14k yellow gold for the American market. The case, measuring approximately 35mm, features clean lines, brushed surfaces, and subtle curvature. At its heart is the chronometer-rated Caliber 561, a robust automatic movement with date function, known for its reliability and precision. True to the Constellation line’s legacy, it bears the Geneva Observatory medallion on the caseback.

This very model is from 1967 so a very early example and features an extremely sharp case with crisp bevels and a very pronounciated observatory medallion in the caseback. The yellow gold linen dial is perfectly preserved as well as the full-length woven mesh-style bracelet which is one of the most comfortable bracelets I ever felt!
