Omega - Omega Marine CK 679 cal. 19.4.T2

The Omega Marine was the first watch tested to withstand subaquatic depths (75m) in the Leman lake in 1932. We cannot yet talk about true diver watch, but this is without contest the first real waterproof watch.

To achieve this feat, Omega placed the watch within a secondary case that clipped onto the interior case. Two separate crystals protect the dial within, which explains why this watch, at about a century old, has aged so well.

Despite of this, they have become very rare and most of them has damaged or reprinted dial with blued hands.

Unlike others, this one has a rare 100% original dial with lume plots and luminescent hands set, which is much more appropriate for the « first diver watch » wannabe.

Nowadays, with its elegant Art Deco lines, this Omega Marine wears more like a Tank or a Reverso, a dress watch with a glorious past and a conversation starter.
