Patek Philippe - Patek Philippe Nautellipse St/G Ref. 3770/011, c.a. 1982
The Nautellipse
Not quite a Nautilus, not quite an Ellipse — meet the fascinating Patek Philippe ref. 3770, affectionately known as the Nautellipse. Born during the height of the Quartz Crisis, it represents an unexpected yet brilliant fusion of two of Patek’s most recognisable designs.
Introduced in 1980, the 3770 combined the bold, Genta-designed Nautilus with the refined elegance of the Ellipse. The result was a slim, quartz-powered sports watch that offered the style and prestige of Patek at a more accessible price point for the era.
Production ran until 1992 and was extremely limited — only around 300 pieces in total across steel, gold, and two-tone, with roughly 100 examples of each. Among the few dial variants, the two-tone sector dial stands out as the most iconic and visually striking.
This particular example, dating to 1982, is a beautifully preserved early piece in the highly sought-after two-tone configuration, complete with the Nautilus-style bracelet. It wears elegantly at 188mm total length and offers a perfect blend of rarity, style, and historical charm.
A true Momentum favourite — and with so few ever made, an unmissable opportunity to own one of the rarest Patek Philippe creations of the 1980s.
