This very « punk » 45° rotated square dial cased in a round frame – called the Pebble – was designed in 1972 in London with only six examples produced. It is one of the maison’s most distinctive designs and became a mythical timepiece coveted by collectors and virtually impossible to acquire. The tension between symmetry and angle, softness and edge, square in a circle, is what gives the Pebble its unique charm. In 2022, for the model’s 50th anniversary, Cartier brought back the Pebble in a strictly limited run of 150 individually numbered pieces. Faithful to the original’s proportions and spirit.
