Cartier - Rare Large WG/YG Ceinture Deux Ors | Early Number | Paris Dial

Launched in 1927 and re-released in 1970, this is a rare iteration, the very difficult to find large Cartier Ceinture Deux Ors or double gold in excellent condition and with a rare Paris dial.

The market for white Cartier has already exploded, and half-white Cartier are being hailed as the next big thing, given their equally scarce production numbers. This Ceinture is a prime example of this renaissance.

With a low single-digit production number, this watch carries history. In the world of vintage Cartier, where rarity reigns supreme, this alone puts it in a league of its own.

Different in design from Cartier’s usual aesthetic, the winding crown, usually a signature element that showcases Cartier’s blue sapphire cabochon, is flat here and is held within a slot in the watch bezel that Cartier called “remontoir imperdable” (captive winding).

With its elder sibling, the Cristallor, now fetching upwards of $30,000, this mid-1970s “Grand Modèle” (the largest size) reference, is poised to follow suit.
