The Datejust, launched in the mid-1940s, became an immediate icon and remains one of Rolex's best-selling watches. Among its rare references, the 16019, introduced in 1978, stands out, crafted entirely in 18K white gold. As the successor to the iconic 1601, it features an upgraded movement with quickset date, sapphire crystal, and a more solid case. The 16019 is extremely rare, with production running officially for about 10 years, but examples are mostly seen from 1978 to 1985.
